Activity Forums Adobe After Effects Expressions Value over time

  • Posted by Ryan Wetherall on April 17, 2011 at 11:02 pm

    Hey all,

I’ve been using after effects for years but I never had the need for using expressions until now. I have a simple senario where I need a position value to move in a constant linear fashion over time. I tried to look this simple issue up, but all the reference I found was expressions for more complex situations.

Could someone help me out and maybe recommend a good recourse to reference in the future?

    Thanks all,
    -Ryan

You weren’t very specific, but here’s a simple example that moves a layer 100 pixels right and 50 pixels up each second:

    value + [100,-50]*time

Thank you Dan, that was all I needed. I just needed a generic example, I didn’t mean to sound vague.

    My apologies.
