vagas will no longer render my whole project
hey,
i was wondering if anyone knows why vegas might not want to render my whole project… it renders fine but just misses a bit of the end each time, this bit that is left off is not a whole clip, which really does confuse me…
ive been rendering the project as a draft but i dont see why that should make a difference…
any help would be great, im coming up to my final year degree show so any help at all would be great, im sure im just being a bit stupid and not clicking one button or checking a box that i need too.

It’s possible that you have the “render loop region only” option selected in your render tab and your entire timeline isn’t selected.
Either disable this option or make sure that your entire timeline is selected prior to rendering and you should be OK. -
its not that im afraid … i think maybe if i try rendering to that point, then render after that, finally render both together it may sort the problem… its very odd though.

Be sure your not rendering a looped region only, or you can set your regions to the beginning and end of the project and render the looped region only.

ive done this, n ive turned off the loop region option but no joy. the video plays fine in the preview window… which suggests to me it isnt a problem with one of my files.

That’s an option to consider.
I will sometimes render various segments to DV-AVI (using Best mode as mine generally have a lot of stills in them) and then bring all of them back in for a master render.“… its very odd though.”
None of the usual suggestions work so yes, it is very odd.
edit: one additional thought.
Does the last clip have a velocity envelope on it or otherwise sped up/down? -

That’s not a safe assumption. Vegas plays DivX files back on the timeline but the renders are all messed up. Just because something plays doesn’t mean it will render. What format are your source files?

ah well i using single shots jpegs small files thought and adding them in a sequence…. i have about 16500 shos so far but i have rendered in chuncks befor i did this so the strain shouldnt be that much…
vegas has always worked well for me and this although my comp isnt too powerful and old now its never just left off bits of rendering.
