V9: Unwanted blur at masked track
Hello again,
I finally got hold of a V9 Pro & tried Masking.
One track with a regular clip (the sea), the track above it with a still .jpg (a map), which was partly masked so that the regular clip would show behind it.
When playing, about 1.5 to 2 seconds after the start of the combination, the masked clip (the map) becomes slightly blurry (as though gaussian blur was added) and continues thus. The regular clip below is not affected, looks OK.
I can move the cursor at any point on the timeline along the 2 tracks and start there. The first second or so is nice, then the blur kicks in.
Checking the settings, I have no event FX running on either track. The controls on the mask are: Positive/Antialias Yes/Opacity 100%/Feather None/Feather % grayed.
The change to blurriness is sudden.
This is viewed in the Preview Panel, at “Best”. The other settings also show the same problem.
I tried various combinations without luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

What exactly does that mean? Did you buy Vegas Pro 9.0 AFTER Vegas Pro 10 is already out? or did you obtain an illegal copy?

That’s why Sony gives you a 30-day free trial (so you can try before you buy). Yes, Vegas Pro 10 is out.
The blurriness you are seeing could be from the preview option Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback. This will change the preview window quality if the frame rate drops. To get the true quality, disable this option and perform a RAM Preview to see what the video really looks like.

Is this on the preview window? My PC is underpowered for the HDV work that I do and one to two seconds after starting a preview playback, the preview window shifts to draft quality.
