Here’s a utility that allows you to define multiple sets of user preferences so that you can launch FCP with a single button click with a defined preset based on project, or edit system setup. It’s about as close to setup-follows-project as you can get for now. BTW, this works for any software that you drag into it, not just FCP.

Here’s a demo of me using it after an initial setup. Pretty basic, but you can extend this idea to things like output to tape setup, 4-track playback, etc.

I will upload a demo on how I set up for the first time later today. It’s a bit tricky.

    Steve,

Any way you can post a file so others, like me, can open it up with the demo and see exactly what you’ve done?

    New demo from scratch:

I’m communicating with the developer and getting his input on how I did the initial setup, with sensitivity to non-technical types being the user.

I am just getting acquainted with it so I have to see its limitations, so I’m not selling this as the be-all, end-all. but so far it’s damn good!

Nice job Steve. I like it… I’m gonna try it soon myself.
