Hello everyone, I’m looking to do an effect that makes the video look like its being painted on. I thought I could do this with the paint tool and write on effect, but when I set the matte for the stroke (which is considerably big) the white stroke doesn’t get replaced with my video. I’ve done this effect before to reveal text, but never video. Maybe there’s an extra step I’m missing. Could you help me out? Thanks.

This should work. If you’re using Write-on, ensure that the Paint-Style parameter (or something similarly worded) is set to Reveal Source (or something similarly worded).

    Cheers

Thanks for the input. However, I ended up just using a stroke with a huge brush size to reveal the video. Probably not the best way, but it works. I’ll have to try your way sometime when I need to do the effect again. Thanks again!
