  Using Vegas as live CG

  Is there any reason not to use Vegas as a basic live HD CG in studio? The timeline would be fed through a high end Blackmagic card (or similar) into a switcher and be keyed over the live source. Might be awkward for complex multiple layers of graphics like CNN, but for basic college studio, would it work? If not, any other ideas?
