Hi, I’m looking for an MXF ingest solution as I need to edit cross-platform on a variety of NLEs and other post software using platform-agnostic video/media files (ie not mov or avi), and noticed that Vegas 9 Pro can capture to MXF files natively, unlike pretty much all other NLEs and without resorting to costly 3rd party software or hardware. I have downloaded a demo of Vegas but my current hardware (Matrox Axio) is of course not supported, but I know some AJA and BMD gear is. I do have a BMD Multibridge Pro 2 in a Mac in the studio but this doesn’t seem to be supported currently, so my questions are…

    1. Has anybody tried Vegas with BMD Multibridge using HD-SDI capture?
    2. Can material be captured via Vegas to MXF via HD-SDI?
    3. What are the specs of the captured MXF HD files…are these converted to Sony XDCAM HD essences inside a generic OP1a wrapper and what sort of data rates are we talking about…can 100MB/s be coaxed out of the system?
    4. Does Vegas have capture scene detection and does this work with MXF capture via HD-SDI?

    Thanks, Oli
