using Utlimatte AdvantEdge with Matrox MX02le MAX
When using the Utlimatte AdvantEdge with Matrox MAX compression it goes SUPER SLOW! Since the Matrox MAX is supposed to compress at faster then real time I’m not sure why it’s taking 4 hours to compress 30min worth of footage.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! -

Everything rendered? How are you exporting? The Matrox compresses faster than real time if you use COMPRESSOR and one of the MAX settings…then it knows to utilize the MAX.

Everything is rendered, running it through MAX compression H.264 1280×720 in Compressor from FCP 7

Quad-Core Intel Xeon

Rendered, exported out as a QT reference or self contained?
Hmmm…you aren’t using a cluster with this are you? You cannot use the CLUSTER and the MAX at the same time. If you use the MAX, you have to submit it to THIS COMPUTER. And is the red light in the Matrox blinking? that’s how you know it is working. Not blinking, then it isn’t being utilized.

Found out the answer is exporting to self contained Quicktime first, then throwing that into Compressor.
