Using the same media on different timelines
Posted by Rob Lindsay on May 21, 2015 at 4:37 pmI know this has been answered before, but I can’t find the thread now. I need to edit several videos from the same material. How can I Keep the bins, etc., and reapply them to new timelines?
As always, thanks so much to you all for your help and patience!

May 21, 2015 at 4:49 pmIn my opinion, the easiest thing to do is to keep what you already have intact (with the exception of deleting the timeline each time you start a new project) and save it with a new name each time you start a new project.
i.e. MyVideo-1.veg, MyVideo-2.veg, MyVideo-2.veg, etc. -

May 21, 2015 at 6:43 pmLet’s see if I can do a better job of explaining things.
You do video #1 and save it as video-1.veg
Delete everything on your timeline and re-save it as video-2.veg
Do video #2 and save it as that name.
Delete everything on your timeline and re-save it as video-3.veg
Repeat as necessary.
Does this make sense? -

May 23, 2015 at 6:14 amOr as suggested, create a veg with all the bins and content needed for the project, clear the timeline and save it as as project name template. Replace project name with the name of the project. Then open the project name template file do the edit and save it as, oh pick a name that is relevant. That’s what I do.
