I’m new to LTO and have really only had experience with the Storage DNA system.
We purchased a single-drive LTO-7 from GB Labs that just did not work well with our server setup.
So we ended up purchasing an 8 slot Storage DNA LTO-8 system and so far so good with any new video/data we archive. However, I have several tapes from the old system that the Storage DNA won’t import or read.
I can’t remember if the GB Labs used an archive or TAR format. I was able to successfully import 1 tape out of about 10.
Can I use the drive that’s in our Storage DNA system, some Linux software from IBM or Fuji, since the ‘brains’ of SDNA is running on Centos, and transfer from those tapes to another drive, so they can be written back to SDNA?
