Using Sony Vegas Pro 11, but need a final product to be in ProRes 422 (HQ) format

We did a test and the editors version of Final Cut Pro works with the footage rendered from the PC without using the Avid codec referenced above just fine.
In fact, it might look better than when we capture footage from the HDV camera onto FCP itself.
I’m a little confused. So if someone wants to take a crack at explaining it that would cool, but we seem to be able to do what we need without installing the avid codec onto the Mac after all.
I’ll just keep moving forward in befuddled happiness for the moment.

How did you render the footage? I’m sure others would be interested to know what works.

October 25, 2012 at 7:50 pmGregory, how did you end up getting to your ProRes 422 output with Vegas? Did you end up having to sub it out to a FCP system?
