  Using Sony DVD RDR-HX520S as a playout device?

  I know that many people are using DVD recorders as quick client approval MPEG2 encoding devices and I’m hoping to do the same. I’ve heard a fair amount of success about Panasonic models but was wondering if anyone has had any success (or definite failures) with Sony models?

  I’m looking at the fairly new RDR-HX520S.

  Any direct experiences of Sony’s recording well/poorly from FCP very much appreciated.
