Using png files instead of vector files
I make explainer type animations in AE. My typical workflow consists of drawing all the assets in multiple illustrator files. Usually multiple assets in one file that I mask out. I’m using a pretty ram intensive script (stop motion kit) for the animation and was wondering for the elements that I do not need to rasterize (scale up) if exporting my illustrator files as PNG files would speed up the live render view. I’m assuming it wouldn’t really make a difference but thought I’d ask.

I haven’t done any tests but I’d assume that the difference in render speed between an illustrator layer without continuous rasterization and a png would be minimal.
On the other hand I’d expect a png to render faster than a continuously rasterized illustrator layer.
