    Hi, I was asked to create an illustrator document using PMS 294-Blue and PMS 871-Gold, how do i find this pms colors? I am using illustrator CS3… Thanks!

    Inside your document, go to the Swatches tab or Window/Swatches. Click on the drop-down menu (triangle button)/Open Swatch Library and select PANTONE…
    There are a number of Pantone sets for different media. I’ve typically used Pantone Solid Coated, but if you want to get crazy with it you could ask the client what type of stock the image will be printed to – coated, uncoated, matte, etc.
    Also, you should set the document color mode to CMYK – File/Document Color Mode.
