  • Using MLP files for Blu-Ray in Encore CS5.1

Hey guys, first post here so apologies if I miss anything!

I’ve recently just authored my first Blu-Rays and all seems fine, although one thing I noticed was the inability to use the .MLP fies (Meridian Lossless Package) for the audio tracks that I have created.

I used Dolby Media Encoder SE, which generates the TrueHD .mlp file, as well as the accompanying .AC3 file.

Now I understand that you have to include an AC3 file as the use of .MLP is optional, but I can’t seem to find a way to import it into Encore CS5.1

I’m told that I can’t load it and maybe having the right decoder installed will help, but I can’t seem to find one. I have tried the MLP file in VLC and it does playback, so there isn’t an issue with the file itself.

I’m running on OSX 10.7.2, and have updated Encore as much as I can, hoping someone can shed some light as there doesnt seem to be much about it floating around ont the internet.

    Cheers all,

    Dave.

    dave,
encore could only handle WAV, AC3 or DTS, but nothing else like the high res HD-audio-files.

    cheers
