Using Insert and Overwrite shortcuts with Dual Mono? (5.5)
I seem to be encountering an issue regarding using the overwrite and insert edit keyboard shortcuts when working with audio imported as dual mono:
Using the default AVCHD 720p24 sequence and after setting my in and outs in the source monitor, when I hit the “,” key or the “.” key, the video will be sent to the timeline, but with no audio.
I assumed that this may be due to the sequence settings, since there are no mono tracks by default. I created a new preset that had the first 2 audio tracks set as mono. When I use the “,” and “.” shortcuts here, only the first dual mono track is being sent down, which is strange since both audio tracks highlight in the timeline.
Now if I click and drag the clip into the timeline, it works fine. Both mono tracks appear. So in the end, I can get it to work, but it would be much faster if I can work with shortcuts.
I am hoping I am just doing something wrong since I’m still fairly new to Premiere, but I’ve checked all my settings and am not sure what else to try. Thanks in advance.
