Using Index Function to get source Material from Composition
Hello forum,
i want to do a logo reveal via a flipping book. (I added a picture to illustrate it) So i want to create a flipbook effect, where the pages are seen from the side so that the logo reveals while the pages stack up from bottom to top.
The Pages are filled with images that are visible, while the pages flip down.
I wanted to use the index function to get the source material for the Images from one subsequence, where i either use markers or the index of the stacked layers to define which image is to be used. Is that possible? And if so, what kind of expression would i need to do that?
I hope you can understand what i mean.

Expressions can only be applied to properties which can be animated. So I’m not sure if it’s as how you think it to be sadly.

If you have the images in a sequence, one image per frame, then you could use a time remapping expression to control which frame is displayed based on some calculation for which page is currently flipping. Then you could, for example, use layer markers to advance to the next frame/page with a time remapping expression like this:
m = marker;
n = 0;
if (m.numKeys > 0){
n = m.nearestKey(time).index;
if (time < m.key(n).time) n--;
}
framesToTime(n)
