I realize the HyperDecks are designed for portability and thus utilize SSDs but what about connecting them to inexpensive hard drive raid 0 arrays? Since the interface is SATA, I assume anything following that spec should work, including hardware raid 0 arrays that present themselves as single device. A HyperDeck shuttle with a 4-bay harddrive enclosure populated with 2-TB drives could make one hell of a field recorder on a budget, albeit being a bit less portable.

I was wondering exactly the same thing. Did you manage to find the answer??
