  • Using FCP’s Export Movie function

I apologise if this is the wrong section for this post. Please re-direct to correct section.

I never use FCP’s export movie function, rather I Print to Video the final movie.

I have recaptured a 25 minute completed doc from a DVCam tape in DV Pal format to make some minor modifications. The file size of the captured clip is 5.28GB.

I will be using iDVD to burn the film onto DVD but 5.28GB is too large to fit onto a 4.7GB disc (my discs fit no more than 4.3GB).

What settings should I use on FCP 4 to export the movie in High Quality so that it can be encoded onto a DVD via iDVD?

    Thanks

ps. I have compressor too but never used it.

Export to QuickTime Movie using current settings. iDVD will do the compression for you.

    Thanks Tom.

The resulting exported movie is not of the highest quality. The opening credit texts and logo are slightly pixelated and also the image quality is not up to standard. I did check the settings to ensure that the output is at maximum quality.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
