  • Using Encore 2.0 in HDV Project – Possible?

Hey group. I am new to Encore 2.0. We are creating an HDV Premier Pro project and I have read where Encore 2.0 will not support HDV, is this true? If it is true, where do I turn for authoring software that I can use in my HDV project?

    Thanks so much.

Unfortunately, there aren’t yet any reasonably-priced, good authoring solutions for hi-def DVD (Blu-Ray or HD-DVD). If you don’t author to hi-def DVD, then you will have to reduce the resolution of your HDV output to SD. At SD resolution, Encore and a host of other authoring packages can author your DVD just fine.

Or, of course, you can use WMV-HD as part of the ROM content.
For proper HD DVD authoring, it’s $50,000 sheets for SCenarist HD DVD, plus an additional $60,000 for the CineVision encoder & spec checking tool.
Add to this another $50,000 for Scenarist SD, but the generous folks at Sonic will do you the bundle for only $150,000.

Forget anyone who tells you that Ulead or DVDSP will do what you want – they won’t.

Thanks Neil for the response. Looks like I will be waiting a while to autor in HDV.
