Using CC without NVIDIA or AMD GPU
Hi!
I’ve been using CS6 to edit a feature length project on my 13-inch MacBook Pro from late 2011. It’s Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, processor is 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, with 16 GB RAM upgrade and Intel HD Graphics 3000. Recently switched to CC but found that playback seemed slower and choppier than it had been when I used it on another editor’s newer macbook. Found out that my macbook just missed the cutoff for built-in Nividea graphics card, so CC can’t run Mercury playback and take advantage of better speed, etc. I’ve been told that this might be an issue for a large long-term project like mine, and that problems might arise especially with longer sequences. I’m on a tight budget (otherwise I’d have a new computer) – is there a recommended way to approach this? Affordable graphics card upgrades, etc?
Any tips appreciated!
Thanks,
AW
