  • Using CC Cylinder to create background – stuck!

    Hi all,

I’ve searched through all the posts I could find on using Cylinder, but have a few other questions.

I’m trying to use one big picture as the background along with an AE camera that will move around. I read that you are not supposed to make the “cylinder” layer 3D. Problem is, if I don’t, the camera doesn’t react to it. The only way I can seem to change the “spin” value of cylinder, but I need it to react to the camera so as it pans/moves, the bg changes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Take care,

    Lands

Leave the 3D switch unticked and it will work as a 3d object. The effect already enables the 3d property.

Easiest way to work with the cylinder or sphere effects is to pre-compose your “texture” or cylinder-layer. This way you can modify and edit it very easy in future steps.
