  • Using an ink movie to hide and show a logo at the same time

    Hey everyone,

I am making a personal promotional movie for a fundraising event for the Dutch KWF Cancer Fund that I am participating in, called the Alpe d’HuZes.
Now I’m working on the intro but I can’t get it done.

I want to start with a white screen, with the logo of the event in the colors of the background. (Top left 1st photo)
This background colored logo must slowly change into the colored logo and the white screen must become the movie. (Bottom right)

I want to do this by using an ink movie. If this appears everything behind this ink must change into the real colors.

I manage to create 2 compositions with this ink layer as a Luma Matte. 1 Composition views the logo that disappears/ is changing into the colors of the background (Top Right) and the other composition views a white screen that disappears and the colored logo behind the ink becomes visible (Bottom left).

But I want to create a combination of these 2.

During this whole intro, you must see the logo for 100%. If the ink is passed a part of the logo in the background colors, you must see the colored logo.
Like you’ll see at the next photo (fast created with Photoshop)

Who knows how I can create this?

    At this moment I have got 3 compositions;
1 is the main composition with the other 2 compositions.
1 is the composition with the white screen and the logo in the colors of the background. The layers are (starting at top layers) the logo, the background as an Alpha Matte from the logo and the ink movie 2 times (1 as an Luma Matte from the other).
And the other composition is the colored logo with the ink movie 2 times (also 1 as an Luma Matte from the other) and the logo.

Ps. The background layer you see, is a photo of the Alpe d’Huez, France. This is
the environment where the Alpe d’HuZes takes place, but this must become (if possible) a movie.

Who wants to help me with this?
Or, boldly said, is there somebody who wants to do this for me. I am going to use this movie for trying to reach more people who wants to support Cancer research.

    Thank you

    Sander

Just take the layers from each of these compositions, and combine them into one. The topmost layer should be the version with the Alpha Matte–you can precompose it if necessary. Then you should be able to use the ink movie as a luma matte to reveal the colored logo, and a luma inverted matte to hide the white foreground.
