  Using an imac display

  I have an Intel Duo Core 2 imac, and, although I realise it is very ill advised, due to lack of funds I am going to have to use my imac display to monitor video on (I understand that there are probably cheaper alternatives I could have purchased for editing video, but it’s a bit late for that now).

  So what I am really asking is how do I set up my imac display to show video in a way that is as close to a broadcast standard as possible.

  I have spyder pro to calibrate my monitor if that helps.

  (the display is incredibly bright so I think the luminance my display should be set at is a major issue).

  Hopefully I’m not the only person out there trying to scrape together video from bits and bobs, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
