Using Align-To to place cursor but cant then move it to a fixed position

March 10, 2020 at 4:28 pmI’m creating a lower-third.
I have an animated vertical cursor that animates on after the end of user-typed text.
I use align-to to determine the position the cursor takes at the end of that text.
I do that by using the right edge of the enclosing folder which will expand or contract depending on the text typed on a text box within. After the cursor animates on, I then want it to move left to wipe on the text and position itself to the left of the text. That position is known. Fixed. What is not known is where the cursor will appear at the start.
So,
Simply keyframing the offset doesn’t do it because the distance changes with the text length of the user input.
