Using After Effect material in Premiere Pro without encoding (twice)
This might be a really obvious question, but after searching through Google I didn’t come up with a useful answer (to me at least).
The question is, is it possible to use material created in Adobe After Effects in Adobe Premiere Pro (both CS3) without having to encode it first in After Effects. Because if I do that, I’ll have to encode it for a SECOND time when exporting from Premiere, and thus losing quality.
I’ve tried using the ‘Premiere Project Export’ in AE, but that doesn’t work because Premiere can’t handle the effects used in AE. I’ve tried loading an After Effects file directly into Premiere but that doesn’t work either. I’ve read it’s possible to use a ‘direct link’ between After Effects CS3 and Premiere Pro CS3, but that’s only available in a professional version of the Adobe Collection which I don’t have.
I know it’s probably possible to reverse the process, use Premiere files in After Effects and then apply effects (hence the name AFTER Effects), but that’s giving me headaches with the editing process.
I hope someone can provide me with a ‘simple’ answer. Maybe I’m overlooking something really obvious. Thanks in advance!
