I feel like I’m just on the fringe of really understanding MoGraph’s full potential. Hoping to get some support with the following.

I have an object (you may have seen my poly fx posting), Cube object with Poly Fx Applied. Random Effector applied to the Poly FX so that I can randomize an “explode” of the object into many pieces. Loving it.

I’d like to have that random effector “explode” to the beat of some music (thinking sound effector) but not sure how to link the random effector to be effected by the sound effector.

    Thoughts oh great C4d experts?

    Cheers

There are two ways to go about it. One would be to use Xpresso, where you would use a sample effector node to have the sound effector’s strength drive the random effector’s strength.

The other way would be to set the sound effector’s weight transform to 100% (parameters tab) and turn the random effector’s weight to 0 (falloff tab). Make sure that the sound effector is on top of the random effector in the cloner’s effector list.

Adam, you rock as usual. I’m pretty scared of Xpresso still (hoping to get a handle on it soon though) so I’ll try the latter suggestion first and then I may reach out and/or dive into the Xpresso side.

    My thanks again
