  • Using a Hard drive to Move to Final Cut

My editor is on Final Cut; I’m on CS3. I had hope to move over some files using a fat 32 usb external drive. I had hear that Macs will read fat 32. On hooking up the hard drive it froze up the Mac. We could not get it to stop doing this.

My editor said the IT guys at the post house had to do something with his drive to get it to work.

    Any body got any clue?

We were able to move the files using a DVD and an EDL. Files popped up on the timeline.

I use a piece of software called “Mac Drive” to read mac-formatted drives…

Otherwise if you are going from PC>Mac, I’ve just used a PC formatted harddrive…a Mac will read it, but not write to it.
