Using a chroma green rug on a floor for green screening?
I’ve convinced my company to finally dedicate a room in our building for green screening our video (up to now we’ve been using a portable green screen).
I’ve requested we paint one entire wall chroma green and then also come out from the wall about 10 feet and paint that chroma green on the floor. They’re not too willing to do the floor, but wanted to know if they could install a chroma green carpet on the floor instead. Are there chroma green rugs and does anyone know if this would work?

Not sure if that exists, though I’d wonder about anything textured giving a clean key.

A rug may give too much texture as per Alan, you could use a continous sheet of green muslin drapped down the wall and out into the room, this will eliminate the join where the wall meets the floor, or if painting the wall you can round the joint between the wall and floor with Mud(drywall spackle) to eliminate it before painting the floor and wall.

Use tempered masonite on the floor painted with the same chroma green as the wall. You could also make a curve with it at the wall and mud the seam for a smooth edge,

You can find Chroma Green fabric from many sources (check B&H photo or Markertek). Another way to work with full green is to build a platform about 10 to 20″ high, and large enough for your talent (6×6′ maybe), and paint the top green. The less green you have in the room, the easier it will be to clean up spill. Having a raised platform should let you “overlap” the floor/wall green in the shot.
