Hello. Me again. Has anyone had the experience of working with 30i material in a 23.98 sequence in Final Cut Pro 5.0? I want to integrate archival 30 i material and was wondering if I have to send the video through some “sort of process” before I capture or what the best workflow would be? Thanks

Yes you do. Check out http://www.nattress.com as he has a standards conversion filter for this specific purpose. Download the trial and see how you like it. Graeme is also very helpful and if you email him directly he can answer any of your questions about the filter.

You can bring any format into FCP. However, you need to render it once it is on the timeline.

Yes, use “G Film Converter” NTSC to Film option on a 24p timeline with normal NTSC interlaced video – works great.

Follow the movie here to see how it works: https://www.nattress.com/Products/standardsconversion/movies.htm
