  • Use Vegas Pro 8 to Burn Bluray or another program?

Posted by Richard Diandrea ii on June 3, 2009 at 8:27 pm

I’m using Vegas Pro 8 to edit my AVC 1080i HD files and have been rendering to Sony AVC. I want to burn movies onto Bluray discs preserving the original resolution and making the best quality discs possible. In Vegas, I can go to Tools > Burn > Bluray, correct? Is there a better way or better program?

    Thanks!

Thanks for your response. I have seen that mentioned all over the place here and actually meant to ask if that was a program I should buy. But then I figured I’d be better off NOT trying to answer my own question!

I am not an expert..just a hobbiest trying to learn, hence the simple questions; can you also explain the difference between Bluray authoring and buring to Bluray disc? Reading many of the posts here brought to my attention that there may be a distinction between the 2. I ultimately want to edit and burn my AVCHD video(shot with my Sony HD-SR1) to produce the best possible image when played back in my Bluray player.

    Thanks for reading…
