    That is what the experts say that use tape backups and RAID arrays. Having said that one GTX 1080 Ti is all you really need in 2017. Next year it will be Vega and Volta. I just wanted to point out the workstation is using a consumer graphics card not the workstation graphic cards for the real-time playback. Never under estimate the power of $1,400.00 gaming PC against a $4,500.00 Mac Pro. Both will work fine if you embrace the power of Geforce for video editing. Will Apple ever embrace the Geforce graphics card against the bosom of the Mac Pro? I do see Mac Pro users buying Geforce cards as external GPUs but that is not the idea way to edit video. Having said that who knows what the next Mac Pro will have to offer?
