  • Use extra resolution to zoom – 1080p files in 720p project

I am using FCP7, when I bring in 1080p files into a 720p project, FCP conforms the file.
I want to use the extra resolution to zoom in without enlarging. Or Pan or tilt – basically use the extra resolution to simulate camera movement.
If I enlarge it, I will lose resolution.
How can I do this in FCP7 ?

In the Users Preferences > Editing uncheck “Always scale clips to sequence size” or, better, select the 1080 clips in the time line and “Remove attributes: basic motion”.
