    Hello,

Is there a way to use a slider to set the position of the playhead in a precomped layer?

basically what I’m trying to do is create a number of preset keyframes, say a variety mouth shapes for example, inside a precomp, and then apply a slider to that precomp that controls what frame should be displayed

I’ve gotten a similar end result in flash using nested symbols, and was wondering if expressions could be used to accomplish this in After Effects.

    Thanks!

Yes, that should work fine. Remember that a time remapping expression expression expects its results in seconds, so if your slider represents a frame number you need to use framesToTime() to convert it to seconds.
