USB P2 Card Adaptor

So I’m switching from an iMac to a laptop, and with Apple’s disappointing removal of the expresscard slot, I find myself facing a similar dilemma. Either I find an alternative to the duel adaptor/expresscard slot solution, or end up purchasing a late 2008 model macbook pro.

I’ve been looking around, and I found a usb expresscard adaptor here for $34:

Of course this only transfers at USB speeds, not PCIe, and I’m wondering if it works for P2 cards.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
