URGENT! Ramp colors are stepped not smooth
I have created a comp using Ramp on a coloured solid. It is smooth on my monitor but when rendered as a Lossless Quicktime and preview in Quicktime Player on a PC the ramp graduation has nasty stepping in it…
How do I solve this? The project is PAL resolution and I use a Mac with AE6.5.

Add some noise. or increase the ramp scatter a little bit. Also be sure to be rendering in 16bpc.

What amount of noise or scatter?

a percent or two or noise and maybe 10 on the scatter, do what looks good. Increase it until the banding goes away…
