i have some comps that contain other collapsed comps that use trapcode shine (inside the nested comp). when i hit the “collapse” switch, the source point for shine changes and my light rays don’t look like they should. why are they doing this? hopefully someone on the other side of the world can answer this while i catch 4 hours of sleep – this is a crappy deadline. the nested comps MUST be collapsed for my blend modes to work… but since my brain is so tired i can’t work out how to make the shine function properly.

does it have anything to do with scaling? the comp that gets collapsed is scaled down. when i collapse, does shine ignore the scale down? hmmm that seems to be what is happening. any ideas on how to work around this??

Try to copy all of the pre-comped layers backinto your main comp,

if the precomp-layer scale, position etc. was animated, keep that layer but hide it,
and use it as a parent for all the other layers.
That way the animation should look the same.
