  • Urgent! Please help! Image gets blurry after I rotate it.

Posted by Tclark on May 28, 2006 at 9:12 pm

I shot a video yesterday and to my surprise the tripod must have been slightly off. I figured no big deal I can rotate it slightly in Premiere Pro 2.0. To my surprise the image gets blurry. Even after rendering. Has anybody else seen this problem? If so is there any way to keep the image looking sharp?
I tried unsharp mask and other filters but it does not correct it. I don’t see why rotating it would cause a somewhat blurry image. I noticed that 1.5 was not the best at this either but the results were better then 2.0.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

It is DV. I did not export it yet. It is blurry when I preview it. On my monitor and my external tv also. Any ideas?

Just did a test, rotated a DV clip 2.0 and after rendering preview files it looks fine. Try an even number of degrees.

    Thanks for your response.

I did try that and unfortunatly no luck. I have no idea what the problem is.
Did you get any softning what so ever?

Is there any chance you have your program monitor set as draft quality?

Try an output, and see if that is blurry too….

    Thanks again for your help!

I tried highest quality and I am looking through an external monitor.
    Any other ideas?

How blurry does it get? Also, does this happen only with this video or is it with every video clip?

    Thanks for your response Aanarav!

This happens with any video clips that I have.
It definitly gets blurry enough for someone else to notice.

For a test I tried different degrees of rotation which does make a difference on how much it blurs but it never gets back to the regular clarity.

Can you send me a 5 second clip via Email at original resolution? If the file is too big, host it on yousendit.com and I will pick it up. My email is: premiere@asvideoproductions.com
