  • Uprez SD to HD — how to accomodate masking across different aspect ratios

I’m attempting to uprez 480P to 1080P using Boris Uprez. Normally I would uprez to 720P but I’ll be needing to zoom in at the final step:

These new 1080P dailies will be replacing footage on nested projects/timelines, rippling all the way up through to the new HD project.

The reason for the above is, I have mucho masking and fx in the original 720x480p project. If I render the SD/DV footage straight to a 1920×1080 project, all my masking and other crops effects (blowups and repositionings) are way off due to the new aspect ratio. I need help with the math, if someone knows…

So I need to render out to an HD size that is the same aspect ratio as 480P DV footage, so that I can then crop/zoom that new HD-uprezzed footage in a new, nested 1920×1080 project.

Essentially, I’m needing to do this:

–Uprez 480P to same-aspect-ratio 1080P, with no side letterbox.
    –Pan/Crop the uprezzed-1080P into a widescreen 16×9 FINAL timeline.
