Using G-Spot will also indicate IF you’ve got the CODECS installed.

I don’t think format was the right word to use. Maybe something in the encoding process?

Weird.. point taken, but why then would they use two different codecs in the same equipment? Because they are Apple… or just to make things difficult.

Sam, please label which of those G-Spot is the Front and which is the Rear camera and which is producing the GREEN footage.

I do notice that they aren’t “shot”, created, at the same time, one is 17th October and the other is from 4 November, and they aren’t from the same Folder. This may indicate that a variable has been introduced. To remedy this, please repeat the test using footage REAR and FRONT cameras, shot at the same time and clearly labelled and run through G-Spot.

In an attempt to indicate that I’m trying here, just now I’ve also completed a test with my own iPhone4, Rear and Front Cameras. As expected, the Front camera has a different PAR and WxH to the Rear. But yours PARs don’t agree with my PARs.

What I also notice, my Rear camera has an Audio CODEC component but yours doesn’t. It is as if you DON’T have audio from one of your cameras? OR that media has been re-configured OR you can mute one of the cameras?

Grazie, it appears that, unfortunately, you are a bit misinformed. My predicament has nothing to do with iPhone videos solely — only one of the video files I showed was made on an iPhone, and both videos show up green.

The other was just a plain movie file exported on a mac and then migrated to my hard drive.

To my knowldge, neither file is corrupt, because they both play fine when uploaded to youtube, however, I have had trouble in the past trying to convert them to different formats.

…I don’t even HAVE an iPhone. You may have confused some of my posts with the posts of a certain David Prater, who also showed up in this thread..

…albeit with a *slightly* different problem entirely.

I think the bottom line is that Vegas Pro shows green video when it can’t properly decode the video. In other words, the codec is installed, but it’s not working in Vegas for some reason.

The solution is to convert the video to a format that Vegas can edit like Motion-JPG with PCM audio.
