“Upload to YouTube” option in Vegas Pro 12
Hi All,
I record local music events and upload them to Youtube, typically I use the Render As -> Internet HD 720p and this creates an mp4 file which is around 2GB for 30 minutes.
I tried the “Upload to YouTube” option under the file menu and it seemed to work well. When the upload had completed, the uploaded video could be viewed as HD 1080p on YouTube which was impressive, as the file size was smaller than the normally rendered 720p.
I can’t find any information anywhere about the “Upload to YouTube” option and how it’s configured. I’d like to know how the file size can be reduced so much and whether it uses optimial settings. I’d also like to know if there are any scripting settings to get greater control of the process.
Does anyone else use “Upload to YouTube” on a regular basis?

Thanks for the link Aleksey, that’s a really useful extension.
Also looks like it’s the bitrate that’s making the difference in the file size, also good to know 🙂
