I want to upgrade from FCP HD to FCP 5. Can any of you give advice on running FCP 5 on a G4. Will I do okay on the following specs if upgrading to version 5?

    I have:

    G4 Dual 1.25 GHz
    2 GB DDR SDRAM (4 x 512 MB)
    MAC HD = 186 GB
    Video 1 HD = 186 GB
    Video 2 HD = 186 GB
    Video 3 HD = 186 GB

    Jake,

You should do fine. Here are the requirements:

Macintosh computer with a PowerPC G4 (500MHz or faster) or G5 processor; HD features require 1GHz or faster single or dual processors

512MB of physical RAM; HD features require 1GB of RAM or more (2GB recommended)

    AGP Quartz Extreme graphics card

Mac OS X v10.3.9 or Mac OS X v10.4 (or later)

    QuickTime 7.0 or later

1GB of disk space required to install application; additional 10GB required to install all optional templates, loops, content and tutorials (may be installed on separate disks)

    DVD drive for installation
