Upgrading to AVID 4.8.4
Hello,
I have a version of Avid Xpress Pro 6.4 at work. We are working off of a G5 Mac with the Tiger OS System 10.3.9.
We would like to upgrade to Avid 4.8.4 (The newest version.)
What version of OS Tiger should we upgrade to?? I have read the Avid site and the requirements are Tiger OS 10.4.2. I believe the next available upgrade for mac now is 10.5. (leopard), but our system does not have the capabilities to handle this high of an upgrade.My question is, are we able to download a higher version than 10.4.2 to successfully run the Avid 4.8.4 upgrade??

Stick with whatever OS Avid recommends – unless you like downtime and troubleshooting….
Clean installs of OS are always fun.
