Upgrading Final Cut Studio
I needed a bigger hard drive in my Powerbook G4. I had been running Final Cut Studio 2 on the
previous hard drive however was running out of room. Having successfully added the new hard drive.
I began to re-install studio 1 and 2 however I am having problems updating all of the old Studio 1
apps. I can’t reload Studio 2 until Studio 1 is updated. Where can I go to find all of the updates for
Final Cut Studio 1 so i can re install Final Cut Studio 2? I have been to Apples website and have found
a couple of the fixes however not enough to reinstall Studio 2. Thanks for any help and direction
with this issue. -

You don’t have to install and update FCS1 before installing FCS2.
When you start installing FCS2 it will just ask you for the SN from FCS1.
Better yet put your old hard drive into a FireWire enclosure boot off of that drive insall carbon copy cloner and clone the old drive to the new. That way the new drive is exactly like the old just bigger.
There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.
Don’t let technology get in the way of your creativity! -

As Zane says, you don’t need to install Studio 1. Just install Studio 2 and it will ask you for the Studio 1 serial number. Enter that and you’re good to go.
