I am running OS 10.3.3 and FCP 4.5 on a duel 1.8 GHz G5 and I am just about to finish editing a feature length movie. I just got a copy of DVD Studio 4 so I can burn my project to DVD. In order for me to perform the install, I need to upgrade my OS to 10.4 or higher. Are their any risks with the upgrade and or adding DVD SP?

    There’s always a risk.

but you can minimize it by purchasing an exact same make/model hard drive as your system disk and clone it with the free carbon copy cloner, that way you take no risk. If it busts it, you can go back
to the other drive the way things were before.

There are definite problems with QuickTime versions. FCP 4.5 works best with QT 6.5.2 and OS 10.4 loads QT 7.0. Many folks have tripped over this with somtimes nasty results.

I am not sure if there is a really good soultion but I need to ask, how did you get DVDSP 4 without Final Cut Studio (1)?
