I have performed several upgrades on edit systems but this time I’m stumped.
    Dual 2Ghz G5, 4gigs of ram.
All external devices are unpluged from the unit.
I did an erase and install of Tiger on the HD.
    I then updated the OS.
    Repaired permisiions.
Everything is fine so far…..then I proceeded to install the upgrade package of FCP Studio.
I enter all the old serial numbers and proceed.
About 2 thirds of the way through the install, usally after the first Live Type Media disk, sometimes earlier it asks for the FCP install disk again.
This is when I receive the devastating news that there are problems with the install and that I must try again. Apple tech support could not help.
I recieved another copy of FCP Studio upgrade the next day, started over and the same thing happens. Apple support had no clue, never heard of this before.
The computer has been running great for a year now, I even did a RAM check using TechTool deluxe, it passed.
I also formatted the HD using Disk utility prior to the Tiger install but no luck, same result.
Can anyone shed some light on why this install is not working? Are there other things to check for or do?
Apple is no help. Thanks, John

This is a hard one to troubleshoot. Never tried it, but is it possible to do a custom install, without installing Live Type (then do that as a separate install later). This might at least help you figure out whether the problem is related to the installation of Live Type.
