    Hi all-
    I just upgraded our production suite (fcp 5 from 4.5) and everything seems to have slowed down a bit. FCP drops frames much more often. Waveforms in the timeline take forever to build. It’s just not as responsive as it was. Motion isn’t realtime anymore. I also upgraded to Tiger before the suite.

    What did I do wrong? Can I fix this anoying problem.

    System: Tiger – dual 2.5 – 4 gigs – Huge Systems U320 1tb

    When you upgraded to Tiger, did you perform a Clean Install of the OS or just an Upgrade. If it’s just an Upgrade, then your entire system will suffer from slow performance. Whenever going from one OS to the next, you must do a Clean Install. I always erase my System Drive and start all over from scratch.

    Do that clean install and then re-install FCP 5.0.
