    Hi!

I work on a MBP that currently has 10.5.8
I purchased Snow Leopard. It installed fine but I lost everything on my desktop. That freaked me out so I uninstalled it.
My question is, can I install this update and retain everything that I currently have on my desktop or will I need to re-create all the files and folders?
    Thank you!

You cant just uninstall an OS. You would need to erase your drive and start over.

The bigger question is why are you upgrading your OS without backing everything up first.
