Upgrade FCPX and Mac OS
It’s been a while since I upgraded. I’m on 10.14.6 OS and FCPX 10.4.8. I’m getting close to finishing a couple major projects, and so considering this a pretty good time if I choose to do so. What are your thoughts on Big Sur, and the latest FCPX upgrade?

My general rule is *never* upgrade mid-project unless I have to – it’s rarely worth the risk. FCP has generally been pretty solid but I have seen plugins stop working properly. If I were you, I would wait until the projects were wrapped up to upgrade.

Big Sur will not open old tape-based media such as Hi8 or DV.

Oh, and dont forget to do a complete clone of your working system before starting the upgrade.
PS – yesterday was World Backup Day. nuff said.
