updating precomp duplicates
if i have duplicates of a precomp and want to add some layers to the original without having to go into each comp how can i do this? can it be done?

you’ll need to add them to each comp.
however, if they will be used the same way in each comp (same positions, animations, etc..) and the precomps have the same attributes (particularly frame size) then you may be abel to simply copy/paste the layers into each comp after setting them up the first time.
you may also be able set the layers up in one comp, then precomp those layers and put that precomp into each of the other comps.
